Former Army Sgt. Kyle White receives Medal of Honor at White House ceremony
Sedona AZ (May 12, 2014) – On Tuesday, May 13, former U.S. Army Sgt. Kyle White will become the seventh living Medal of Honor recipient from the war in Afghanistan. He will be presented with the nation’s highest military award in recognition of his actions during an enemy ambush in Aranas, Afghanistan, November 9, 2007.
The ceremony will take place at 3:00 in the afternoon (ET) in the East Room of the White House, and can be seen live at the White House website.
White, who went on to use his GI Bill at the University of North Carolina at Charlotte, and now works as an investment analyst, says he hopes to become a positive example for other Veterans making the transition to school and the civilian workforce. He also says he wants to make sure nobody ever forgets the ultimate sacrifice six Americans made that day in Afghanistan.
