Man Arrested for Violating Fire Evacuation Order

Crown King AZ (May 22, 2012) – Around 7 PM on May 21, 2012, Crown King Arizona resident William Tiffany, 53, was arrested for disobeying a lawful order involving a fire scene.

Within the last few days, Yavapai County Sheriff’s Office deputies received information from personnel working the fire lines around Crown King regarding Tiffany’s presence in various public areas of town.

Tiffany had been previously warned by deputies that the lawful mandatory evacuation order allowed him to stay in Crown King only if he remained on his private property. 

YSCO was notified that Tiffany had gone to the Crown King, Arizona store to purchase cigarettes and beer. Deputies arrived and arrested Tiffany for violation of the lawful evacuation order, a misdemeanor.

Tiffany was booked at the Camp Verde Arizona Detention Center and remains in custody as of press time.

YCSO personnel will continue to follow-up on any leads related to the security of all communities under a mandatory evacuation order. Deputies will also maintain a heavy patrol presence in these towns to preventing looting and continue actively pursuing persons knowingly violating evacuation orders.
