Cody just returned from the Zion National Park Plein Air Invitational. More than 20 artists painted the park and surrounding areas for a week, followed by a show last weekend at the Nature Center inside the park. Cody’s quick-draw painting sold for the second highest bid price during the wet painting auction. Later that evening during the opening night gala, Cody sold all seven plein air paintings he initially hung in the show, plus one studio piece, and another painting sold on Saturday. Ten paintings in total. It was a good week.

A last minute one-day plein air workshop has been added to Cody’s schedule. This will be held in the Jerome/Sedona area on Friday November 19th. If you would like to join this small group, contact Cody now at cody@codydelong.com to register. Cost $100

In addition to the 8-day river trip for artists through the Grand Canyon in May, there is a new river trip opportunity in July. Cody is putting together a smaller 3-day rafting trip on a section of the Chama River in northern New Mexico. This section of the river is designated as ‘Wild and Scenic’, but it’s not too wild, there are some rapids but nothing like the Grand Canyon trip. If you are interested in this trip the cost is only $550 per person. It is not a workshop, just a trip for artists to paint, raft, photograph and enjoy a beautiful section of the river together.
