Dear Village neighbors:

There is an important election coming up in the Village. Early voting starts October 12. The election is November 8, 2016.

At issue is the maintenance of the 1.5 mile median in the Village of Oak Creek called the RRREMD. Three worthy candidates are running who plan to keep the median looking nice but use toxin-free methods for weed control.

The incumbents have refused to consider toxin-free methods. They have distributed false and misleading information. They were not elected, they were appointed. It is time to replace them.

Please elect the Candidates for Toxin Free RRREMD: Ann Crossland, Debra Emmanuelle and Barb Gordon.

DONATE to the campaign for a Toxin Free RRREMD! Help us get the word out and educate voters.

Thank you.

voteFairway Oaks Neighbors:

It is time for a change of how politics work in the “Village.” Stop allowing board members who are appointed rather than elected to make decisions about our future and health. Sedona has already moved in this direction. It is correct.

Please elect the Candidates for Toxin Free Red Rock Road Enhancement Maintenance District: Ann Crossland, Debra Emmanuelle and Barb Gordon.

  1. Village BOONDOGGLE says:

Back in the beginning the County supposedly ‘tried’ a natural approach but the company that was hired(friends in Prescott) hired one guy with a spray can and a weed picker to over see the mile strip at the tune of $50,000.00 a year. Two years and 100,000.00 later they were fired and toxic chemicals brought in.

Lets do it right. Elect your neighbors who care and will get the job done. No more appointees running the village.
We also need to start bidding out jobs and try to keep money in the community.
RREMD has not been doing that with present board. Get them out.

ELECT Ann Crossland, Debra Emmanuelle and Barb Gordon.

  2. Caroline says:

I’d like to think people care.

  3. memberalliance says:

The current RRREMD board members claim the toxin free methods will DOUBLE your taxes. NOT so. The toxin free methods averaged only slightly higher in the last contract bidding 5 years ago. The current board has no documentation about current costs for toxin free methods to prove their claims. Any new board will need to go through new contract bidding. There is no guarantee the current board won’t have to raise taxes as costs increase for Roundup. Deceitful.

The current board members claim the toxic chemical currently used is as safe as baking soda. Let’s see Mumaw, Johnson and Norton drink a cup of Roundup.

The current board continues to discredit the dual weed barrier by using information about a single weed barrier. It ain’t the same folks! The dual weed barrier is WORKING in Sedona. Go look at it. Deceitful.

The current board members were appointed. But they want to you think they were elected. They were not elected. They are NOT running for RE-election. Deceitful.

The bottom line, you can’t trust Mumaw, Johnson and Norton.

Crossland, Emmanuelle and Gordon will keep the median looking great with Integrated Pest Management. They will conduct a pilot project on the dual weed barrier to assess cost savings. The community can be safer and beautiful at the same time.

Will your vote be based on deceitful politics or facts?

Crossland, Emmaneulle and Gordon want you to learn the facts. Join them and Paul Gazda on October 12. 6:30 to 8 at Oak Creek Espresso.

  4. Not stupid says:

Remember when the tobacco industry told us that smoking cigarettes wouldn’t hurt you? And second hand smoke is healthy too?

Do Mumaw, Johnson and Norton work for the chemical industry? Yes, let them drink a cup of Roundup since they think it is so safe. But stop them from making us be exposed.

We are not stupid. Roundup is NOT safe.

  5. Barb Gordon says:

Fairway Oaks neighbors and Member Alliance:
Thank you for your support. I believe we need safer weed control. I know if the toxin free candidates are elected, we will make sure the median is beautiful and we will do it as safely and economically as possible. I am running for RRREMD because we can make a difference. It is so challenging these days to find ways to make a positive difference. This is doable! Thanks again!
    Barb Gordon

  6. Clean House says:

Paul Gazda has done a great job considering he has been met with hostility by the board and even the admins at Improvement District Services. They too need to be replaced.

  7. Barb Gordon says:

To Clean House: I agree Paul Gazda is amazing. I respect him very much. He developed the dual weed barrier. He has used it for 18 years on his own property and is working with Sedona. Why the VOC board members have been so hostile is a mystery. The current board never gave him a chance. I look forward to working with him and Ann Crossland and Debra Emmanuelle. We will need the support of the community. We will need the community to see through the politics and understand the facts. Thank you to all those who have already offered support financially and otherwise. We can’t win without you. Keep spreading the word.
    Barb Gordon

  8. Village People says:

Are we going to have to share the proposed village bed tax with the hotels in the city limits? We been getting a portion of Sedona city taxes for years. Does anyone know?

  9. Barb Gordon says:

The bed tax in the VOC is an idea put forward by the Big Park Council president. It will take another special taxing district to implement it. We must wait and see if there is enough interest to move ahead and determine the details. If you want or do not want the bed tax, I suggest you contact your representative for Big Park Council or come to the meetings and voice your opinion.

  10. Village BOONDOGGLES says:

The Village does not get Sedona city taxes. We are unincorporated Yavapai County.
We are a unique urban area and the County can not implement anything unless it is enforced unincorporated county wide.

Unless a special improvement district is formed and right now there is one company administering and running many many of the special improvement districts in Yavapai County and making hundreds of thousands off of our village dollars. Look it up and see who was part owner.
    Arizona Corporation Commission.
    Improvement District Services
Hundreds of thousands of dollars from the village alone.
The Big Park Council has no authority in the Village beyond working on a vision statement. Period.

I’m in my 20s. I decided today to support Trump. I’m a registered Democrat and was voting for Hillary Clinton until WikiLeaks revealed her real self. I’m not for global domination of economics or borders. I urge my fellow Millennial voters to reject Hillary Clinton as unfit for office. If you can’t vote for Trump then don’t vote at all. I believe Trump isn’t owned by our government and will be good for the office.

We need to tell the world our generation won’t accept this kind of election. Thank you.

  15. VV Republican Women Meeting Attendee says:

Friends: At the Verde Valley Republican Women meeting last week, Rep. Paul Gosar discussed Border Patrol’s recent press releases that hundreds of “OTM’s” (other than Mexicans) are crossing our AZ border at Yuma and are being fast tracked to vote in this presidential election. These people are Africans, Middle Easterners and others that are allegedly not being properly vetted -and- allegedly being allowed to vote.

Arizona Chapter Border Patrol Union President Art Del Queto recently met with Donald Trump in New York and made these statements to the press: “some of these individuals who were apprehended (at the AZ border) with criminal records…they (officials) see that they have criminal records but they are setting them aside…they want to hurry up and fast track them so they can go ahead and be able to vote for the (presidential) election”.

Please call Governor Doug Ducey’s message line (602) 542-4331 and thank him as follows:

“Thank you, Governor, for encouraging both Attorney General Mark Brnovich and Secretary of State Michelle Reagan to be zealous in assuring that this upcoming election in Arizona is fair and honest. No individual who recently illegally crossed into Arizona should ever be able to vote in an upcoming election that is only weeks away. Questions on illegal crossings should be directed to Arizona Border Patrol, specifically to Arizona Chapter President, Art Del Queto.”

Thank you for doing this TODAY or as soon as possible.

  16. WSR says:

If this information is coming from Tea Party guy PaulGosar it must be Made up half truths or just straight up BS……

    In my opinion
