House Votes to Permanently Extend Tax Cuts

Washington DC–The House of Representatives voted 234 to 188 Thursday, December 2 2010, to permanently extend the Bush tax cuts on incomes up to $250,000. Also included in the bill were a two-year delay of the Alternative Minimum Tax, an elimination of the marriage penalty tax, and permanent increases to the child tax credit and the earned-income tax credit.

Twenty Democrats voted against the bill, and three Republican supported it.

House Democrats under the leadership of Nancy Pelosi proclaimed it a victory for the middle class.

read this on the computer a bit ago: For the first time in nearly three decades, the House censured one of its members Thursday, voting 333 to 79 to formally punish Rep. Charlie Rangel (D-N.Y.) for reflecting poorly on the institution and bringing discredit to the House. Seventy-seven Democrats and two Republicans — Reps. Peter King and Don Young — voted against.

The House also voted earlier, 146 to 257, to reject a lesser punishment of reprimand for the congressman.

He was let off easy. You should provide the names of the cowards who were afraid to stand on the side of right against wrong. They deserve to be UNelected next election.

Shame on you Ches for drinking the Kool-Aid. Anyone who thinks that the majority of $250K income has anything to do with individual income is either smoking Pot under the new medicinal Pot program or has never run a business. As an owner of several businesses throughout my career, and looking at this administration who has surrounded itself with 92% of people with NO business experience it is not surprising that this crap continues to flow. What is sad is that about half of the American people, most of which are employed by small businesses, don’t get the economics. It is obvious you know nothing about business structure OR economics that drive opportunity for everyone in this country.
