Sedona AZ (November 17, 2014) What’s news in the dog world these days? Glad ya asked me. Yours truly, Harley McGuire Four Paws Up Star Pet Columnist, received a note from pals Inoch and Hudson with information that a new “4 Pawz” had come to town. Guess what? It’s 4 Pawz Pet Grooming across from the Village of Oak Creek Outlets at 6586 State Route 179 owned and operated by Renee Claybon, a full service pet groomer certified by the Dog Grooming Academy in Mt. Clemens, Michigan, eight years ago!

“I love what I do,” Miz Claybon said. “To see a pet come in dirty or matted and both pet and owner leave with a smile is awesome. We are really excited to be opening at this new location. The community of Sedona has been so supportive, not only in the construction of the new location of the salon, but also in the loyalty of its customers and has been pleased to see a new business in town.”

After working for major chain grooming salons both in Arizona and Michigan, Renee and her husband, Tim, noticed that pet care and maintenance can get quite expensive. So, they adjusted their prices to keep it affordable for regular up-keep. Inoch and Hudson’s mom and dad, and my mom too just love that idea!

4 Pawz Pet Grooming offers a one-on-one service. Way to go, Mr. and Miz Claybon! My Four Paws Up pals and I wouldn’t have it any other way!

“We don’t keep dogs in cages, unless absolutely necessary. We have a large fenced doggie play area and never mix our clients together,” explained Renee. Yippee!

Along with standard baths and grooming, other services are available such as doggie day stay, medicated baths, massage and de-matting, and teeth brushing.

“We offer services to make you and your pet more comfortable,” she added.

Nail cutting and grinding are also provided. Regular nail trims should be maintained every four to six to weeks to help prevent over growth of the nail quick. 4 Pawz Pet Grooming also offers breed-specific cuts and de-shedding for double-coated breeds. They use premium shampoos and products and fresh warm water is used for every groom. Now we’re talkin’!!

“We will always take the time that is needed for your pet to make sure it is a happy, non-stressful, safe experience,” Renee said.

There are many benefits to regular grooming, such as:

• Keeps skin and coat healthy,

• More comfortable with each visit

• Contributes to longer healthier lives

• Can reduce allergy symptoms

• Provides an extra set of eyes that may help notice skin issues or growths.

4 Pawz Pet Grooming is available 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m Monday through Saturday. Call to schedule an appointment or make special arrangements for my friends at 928-554-4951. Be sure to tell Tim and Renee that Harley McGuire and his Four Paws Up Pals sent ya!

  1. At Mom’s insistence I must confess. Since my last trip to Doc Oler in Cornville, when I tried to bite him when he checked my ears, it’s very questionable whether or not “she” will punish these new grooming folks with my presence. Fact is, my habit of biting is getting worser but I’ve convinced Ma Kettle it’s cuz my eyes are getting Cadillacs. Any suggestions?

Thanks anyways Inoch and gang for this great new tip. It sounds like a winner and I’ll let ya’ll know if MK feels like punishing those folks with my presence.

    Lovingly,
    Harley McGuire

  2. Thanks for the article Harley! Hope MK gives these nice folks a chance to make you look as handsome as you are. I bet they will find a way to make sure you don’t bite them…In fact, I bet you get a treat for being good…:))

  3. OK, Inoch, Dominic and Hudson. Based on your glowing recommendation Ma K has given a sort-of heads up to at least taking me in so SHE can chat with those people. I’m being given strict orders to neither bark nor growl. So, will let you know what happens.

Just now (Sunday 11:00 AM) we’re listening to our scanner bout a fire by the old Hawkeye Trailer Park uptown. Yikes! It’s windy out there too. Ma K went to the gazebo to see if she could see smoke. We don’t need no more fires round here cept in our fireplace.

    Later Gators,
    Harley McGuire
