Free Small Business Healthy Arizona Worksites Training

Arizona State SealSedona AZ (March 31, 2013) – The Arizona Small Business Association (ASBA) will offer Verde Valley employers the new Healthy Arizona Worksites Program (HAWP) training, free of charge.

The HAWP training is split into two sessions:  one half-day session, and (six weeks later) one full-day session.

The first half-day session is scheduled for:

  • Tuesday, April 9, 2013 from 1-5 PM, Modules 1-3
  • Public Safety Building, Room A, 199 South 6th Street, Cottonwood, Arizona 86326.

The program is designed for “small businesses” and can benefit employers of a few to more than 2000 plus. Ideally, organizational leaders and or H.R. professionals will participate on behalf of individual business as well.

Participating organizations learn about comprehensive worksite wellness programs and how to reduce costs associated with health care and absenteeism; increase employee productivity; realize up to a $6 return for every $1 invested, and more.

By participating, area employers will receive a worksite wellness assessment tool, ongoing technical support from the ASBA, and recognition as a “Healthy Arizona Worksite” by the Arizona Department of Health Services.

Space is limited. This training is being offered free of charge thanks to a partnership with Yavapai County Community Health Services and the Arizona Department of Health Services.
