Free Seminar for Homeowners with Septic Systems

Sedona AZ (October 17, 2010) – Sedona area homeowners using septic systems will have the opportunity to attend a free education program, announced Barry Allan, Executive Director of the Oak Creek Watershed Council. He emphasized that homeowners from Coconino and Yavapai counties are invited to participate.

Attendees will learn how to properly care for and maintain their system, extend its operational life, save money as well as protect their family’s health, our groundwater and the environment. Participants will receive an updated septic system Homeowner’s Manual and see a special exhibit of septic system components and equipment.

The program will be presented by the Arizona Onsite Wastewater Recycling Association (AzOWRA), an independent non-profit group. Its primary mission is developing and presenting educational programs for homeowners and other onsite industry stakeholders.

Supporting sponsors for this program are EcoRx LLC (Rex Bergamini), Coconino County Environmental Services, Oak Creek Watershed Council, Yavapai County Board of Supervisors and the Sedona/Verde Valley Association of Realtors. Other contributors include Pender Engineering, the Arizona Department of Environmental Quality (ADEQ) and JT’s Septic Service.

This event is scheduled for Saturday, October 23, from 2:30 to 4:30 PM. It will be held at 360 Brewer Road in Sedona in the multi-purpose room of the historic Keep Sedona Beautiful (KSB) building. Seating is limited and reservations are necessary.
