Sedona AZ (March 4, 2015) – The City of Sedona invites Sedona and Verde Valley residents to attend a free community presentation, For the Love of Sedona, by Peter Kageyama on March 19, 2015, at the Sedona Performing Arts Center in the Sedona Red Rock High School, west Sedona. The 6:00 p.m. presentation is approximately one hour and will be followed by a question and answer session.

Kageyama is the author of For the Love of Cities: The Love Affair Between People and Their Places and Love Where You Live: Creating Emotionally Engaging Places. He is a community and economic development consultant and grassroots engagement strategist who has examined what makes cities lovable, and what motivates citizens to do extraordinary things. Peter will speak about how the emotional engagement of people can be turned into tangible action, and how that excitement and energy can be used as a much needed resource for community development.

Sedona Mayor Sandy Moriarty states, “We encourage our Sedona residents and businesses, as well as our neighboring communities of Camp Verde, Clarkdale, Cottonwood, Flagstaff, Jerome, and Village of Oak Creek to attend the free presentation on March 19. I want to thank our many sponsors for their generous support.”

In addition, there will be a free half-day workshop for Sedona residents and businesses at the Agave of Sedona event center. This workshop is available on a first-come, first-serve basis via preregistration no later than March 6 at 928-204-7127 or by email to DSpringfield@SedonaAZ.gov.

For more information, contact the City Manager’s office at 928-204-7127.

Very nice idea, kinda seems a waste of time. Peter has a preconceived idea and he’s not familiar with Sedona. Read some of his stuff and seems better suited to Cali for big moderate climate cities. Good luck.

  3. @Jeannie Carroll ~ Really very, very nice job by all. Is it safe to guess this lovely, collaborative production didn’t cost the businesses and citizens of City of Sedona over one million dollars? IMO it’s far superior to anything I’ve seen so far.
    Thank you!

  4. Chris says:

FUNNY! Yes it is a nice idea @Ron but this city hates everyone except the chamber. Hates the retirees, hates the businesses. Council continues to go down that road, like an abusive husband. Beats the resisdents and businesses because I can.

They gave a party and where were the guests?
