FLASH FLOOD ALERTS

If a flash flood warning is issued, contact local authorities for more information.  Flagstaff had record rainfall in July. Cottonwood had severe flooding when the Verde River crested about 14 feet yesterday. Several canyons are experiencing flash flooding and a young girl drowned in Flagstaff last month after falling into a wash.

Remember that our monsoon seasons bring flash floods and other storm related problems. Hikers, cyclists, golfers and pool users need to be especially vigilant during thunderstorms. The presence of lightning indicates a need to seek shelter.
