Fire May Close Interstate 40 West of Flagstaff

Interstate 40 west of Flagstaff may close due to Engineer Fire 

Arizona Interstate 40 may close this afternoon, June 2, 2011, due to the Engineer Fire near Camp Navajo, approximately 12 miles west of Flagstaff, Arizona. The Arizona Department of Transportation is working with fire officials to ensure the safety of the traveling public.

The closure of AZ I-40 would be set between Flagstaff Ranch Road and Bellemont (mileposts 185-193).

    The Engineer fire at Camp Navajo is now at 800 acres. Containment is expected today. Sad news.
