Desert Search Underway for Missing Chino Valley Woman Update

Jaime Andrews missing from Chino Valley Arizona home

Chino Valley AZ (September 10, 2012)UPDATE SEPTEMBER 11, 2012 – The Yavapai County Sheriff’s office is saddened to report that the body of Jaime Andrews was found just before 2:00 p.m. this afternoon by search team member in the target search area. Updates will be provided when available. The body was transported to the medical examiner pending a cause/manner of death determination. There was a delay in notification of next of kin which delayed this update.

Original Story:  On September 8, 2012, Yavapai County Sheriff’s Office deputies were called to the 2600 block of West Quail View Loop in Chino Valley, Arizona regarding a missing adult female. The reporting party stated that his wife, 37-year-old Jaime Andrews, had been missing since September 4, 2012.

Jaime Andrews was last seen driving a green 2007 Honda sedan.

The husband reported that his wife, Jaime, has had some mental health issues recently, and that he was concerned for her safety. He initially thought his wife had gone to her father’s ranch in La Paz County, but she never arrived.

On September 9, 2012 at approximately 9:00 a.m., a rancher found Jaime Andrew’s abandoned Honda in a remote area west of Wickenburg known as Bullard’s Wash. Jaime’s dog was found in good condition inside the vehicle. Deputies also located Andrew’s purse, some clothing, and a water bottle.

Missing since September 4, 2012 is Arizona woman, Jaime Andrews

The rancher also told deputies he had spoken with Jaime Andrews early Tuesday morning, September 4, 2012 at his ranch home. The ranch is located north of Arizona Highway 71 and west of Arizona Highway 93. The rancher said that Andrews had stopped at his home and asked directions to Almo Road. She was wearing a black “evening” type dress at the time.

During a check of the area where the Honda was discovered, deputies found foot prints and began tracking their direction. Fifteen members of the Southern Yavapai County Response Team were deployed to search, along with a flyover by Sheriff’s Rescue 1.

The rescue search was called off when darkness fell and resumed early on September 10, 2012. The effort to find the missing woman involves over sixty search and rescue team members on 4×4 vehicles, quads, and horseback. Sheriff’s Rescue 1 also completed a series of flyovers today.

Jaime Andrews is five feet four inches tall (5’4″) tall, weighs one hundred seventy five pounds (175 lbs) with brown hair and hazel eyes. She may be in possession of a cell phone. Attempts to track the cell phone have been unsuccessful as the carrier reports it is likely turned off.

Although there is no indication she left the general area, YCSO is asking the public to call if Jaime Andrews is seen elsewhere. If anyone has seen Jaime Andrews or had contact with her in the described search area, contact YCSO immediately.

Citizens can contact the Yavapai County Sheriff’s Office with information or questions at 928-771-3260 or the YCSO website www.ycsoaz.
