Dear Editor: Response to Labor Day Visitor Letter

Sedona Hwy 179

(September 23 2010 Print Edition) Response to “Letter from Labor Day visitors…”  written by Greg Flippen from Mesa, AZ, here is my response:

Thanks to tourists we have many great restaurants, galleries, shops, and events.  Please keep visiting!  Please remember why you are visiting.  I think the answer is all of the above in one of the most beautiful settings on earth.

Do we really want four or six lane highways funneling into an already over expanded “uptown” ?  Yikes, shall we carve out the rocks until we have LA or Chicago?

I live in Sedona part time because it is a small town, please let’s not ruin the very reason we all want to be here.  Advice; next time you drive from south of Sedona come up through Cottonwood, it is four lanes to the “Y” or roll down your windows, enjoy the views and creep up the fabulous new highway.

Respectfully,
