Deadline Looms for Coconino National Forest Plan Revision

coconino forestSedona AZ (December 7, 2010) – Thanks to all who have already provided input on the working draft language for the Coconino National Forest Revised Forest plan. This is just a friendly reminder for those who have not yet provided feedback on the draft language that we will appreciate input on those drafts by Friday, December 10, 2010, so we can consider and incorporate that input into the next iteration of the draft revised plan.

The link to the draft plan language available for public feedback can be accessed via our Forest Plan Revision web page at http://www.fs.fed.us/r3/coconino/plan-revision.shtml.

Thanks to those who attended our Arizona public meetings in Flagstaff, Cottonwood, and Happy Jack last week. We received great input and look forward to additional feedback on the drafts of revised forest plan language under development.

Plan language under development is now available on the web for public input:  Drafts of Forest Plan language currently under development shared at the November 8-10, 2010 Public meetings are now posted on the web site with associated comment forms. Drafts for public input may be downloaded at the following web site —http://www.fs.fed.us/r3/coconino/projects/plan-revision/inputs.shtml.

We will appreciate feedback on these drafts by December 10, 2010 so we can best consider them for incorporation into the next draft. The Plan language development, however, is an iterative process. Comments are welcome throughout the process and will be considered in subsequent steps.

Additional opportunities to provide feedback on the developing revised forest plan for the Coconino National Forest are expected in early 2011. Follow the SedonaEye.com for other information and articles using its Home Page “search” keyword option. Thank you for your interest and involvement.
