America the Beautiful and BagReadyJobs is always seeking stories about our elected officials who participate in the ADOT Adopt-A-Highway program. The following email from the Arizona Congressman was received on June 28, 2015:

Dear Mr. Chamberlain, “America the Beautiful & BagReadyJobs” empowering our nation’s youth advocate,

I have always believed that the best way to lead is by example and sometimes that means rolling up your sleeves and picking up litter on the side of the road.

AZ U.S. Congressman Paul Gosar Adopt a Highway team picks up Chino Valley litter four times a year

On March 28, 2015 I held a road clean up between mile markers 326 and 327 along Highway 89 in Chino Valley, AZ. I was joined by members of the community and a few members from local Boy Scout Troop 6.

The Adopt-A-Highway program is an effective and important solution to provide a clean and beautiful environment for all to enjoy. It’s especially important to inspire and encourage our youth to take care of and give back to their communities so they can pass it along to others.

I look forward to continuing my efforts to keep our highways clean and hope to see more local organizations join in participating throughout our Arizona communities.
