You may have seen on the news that a large number of people may lose their Internet access on Monday, July 9, 2012. This is true and NOT a hoax.
If you want to read more about it, visit here. There is a very slight danger that your computer may be infected, but there is a simple test to check.
Go to http://www.dns-ok.us/ to run the test.
If your computer screen displays this message: DNS Resolution = GREEN then your computer appears to be looking up IP addresses correctly!
Had your computer been infected with DNS changer malware, you would have seen a red background.
Please note, however, that if your ISP is redirecting DNS traffic for its customers you would have reached this site even though you are infected.

To assist victims affected by the DNS Changer malicious software, the FBI obtained a court order authorizing the Internet Systems Consortium (ISC) to deploy and maintain temporary clean DNS servers. This solution is temporary, providing additional time for victims to clean affected computers and restore their normal DNS settings.
The clean DNS servers will be turned off on July 9, 2012, and computers still impacted by DNS Changer may lose Internet connectivity at that time.

According to the FBI site, you can test if your computer is affected by checking your system at the following DNS Changer Check-UP sites http://www.dns-ok.lu/ and/or http://www.dns-ok.us/ . Mine came up totally clean
