Collins Rhōg

Sedona AZ (August 20, 2014)The following has been randomly taken from Collins Rhōg’s private journal, and reproduced exactly as it was written, by his own hand. The date has been omitted, at his request, but Collins view is always captivatingly honest, full of depth and color, heart and perseverance in times of struggle. Collins spills his soul and captures his feelings with vivid imagery and heartfelt emotion that oozes from the pages of this historic text.

The following is but a portholes view, from across the room of “The Life and Times of Collins Rhōg“:

the age of innocence and discovery

the age of innocence and discovery…
like a child with new rubber boots
wading and splashing through mud puddles
the age of innocence and discovery
is forever captured in our memory.

it’s eating icicles and wearing mittens
it’s pollywogs and ladybugs
puppy-dogs and kittens
listening to seashells and picking dandelions
it’s leaving the training wheels far behind.

it’s running the kite, to soar in the sky
getting lost in the store and starting to cry
it’s the first snowflake that melts
on the end of your tongue
and the way we looked at life, when we were so young.

it’s our excitement and fears
our laughter and tears
our adventures and friends
in the world we lived in.
it’s twisting that first tooth free
it’s skinning your knee
it was the age of innocence and discovery.
