Clean Elections Candidate Pamphlet

clean electionsSedona AZ (July 28, 2014) – Arizona voters will receive a Candidate Statement Pamphlet this week from the Citizens Clean Elections Commission. Every household in the state with a registered voter will receive a pamphlet in the coming days.

Candidates running for legislative and statewide offices were invited to submit a 200-word statement and photo for inclusion in the pamphlet. This includes both participating Clean Elections candidates and those running for office with traditional funding.

“Education is a key role of the Clean Elections Commission and the Candidate Statement Pamphlet is a very effective means for fulfilling that role and educating voters,” said Commission Chairman Timothy J. Reckart.  “In addition to the candidate statement, voters will find important information on how to request an early ballot and locate polling locations for the Primary Election.”

Out of 219 candidates running this year, 15 did not submit a statement. Their names will be included in the pamphlet with the notation “No Statement Submitted.”  The funding source for their campaign will also be listed.

The Citizens Clean Elections Commission will distribute approximately 1.8 million pamphlets for the Primary Election. The 2014 Primary Election will be held August 26, 2014. Early voting begins July 31, 2014.

  1. Took my copy to friends house. After dinner we went through each candidates listing who would be appearing on our ballot. Sparked lots of discussion & a few Google searches. We chose our candidates & it’s a great resource.

One bone to pick – if it’s a fed law that one speaks English to become a citizen and citizens only vote, why does this book double its expense by including Spanish? If AZ has a law requiring that all voting materials be printed in Spanish, it should be repealed.

    All three of us agree.
