City of Sedona Receives Insurance Payout

Sedona AZ (June 14, 2011) – The City of Sedona Arizona’s insurance carrier, Arizona Municipal Risk Retention Pool (AMRRP) has informed its members that its Board of Trustees declared a $3,000,000 property and casualty Member dividend and the City’s dividend has been tentatively calculated at $60,771.

There are currently seventy five members in the Pool. As a member of the AMRRP, the City of Sedona retains an ownership interest in the Pool based on its length of membership, premium contributions and historical loss results. This dividend represents a portion of surplus funds in excess of amounts needed for payment of the Pool’s current and estimated future liabilities.

The AMRRP Board’s declaration of a dividend reflects a means by which the Pool can thank its property and casualty members for their continued loyalty and support and a means by which those members can enjoy the benefits of the Pool’s continued success.

Final dividend disbursement amounts will be calculated and distributed to municipalities that are property and casualty Pool members as of July 15, 2011. For more information, contact the City of Sedona Finance Office at (928) 204-7185 or Finance_dept@SedonaAZ.gov.

Is the City of Sedona still receiving dividends? Can this money be used for renting space on the parks of Sedona?
