City of Sedona Excise Tax Revenue Bond Rating Reviewed

City of Sedona Public Notice

Sedona AZ (January 11, 2011) – The City of Sedona received news that Standard & Poor’s reviewed the City’s Bond Rating on Excise Tax Revenue Bonds and has affirmed their prior rating of “A” and given the City a stable outlook.

According to Tim Ernster, Sedona City Manager, “This was an unsolicited review of the City’s rating and we were not aware of it until we were contacted by Standard & Poor’s to inform us of the outcome of their review.  Bond ratings by agencies such as Standard and Poor’s can have an influence on the interest rates the City pays on bonds used to finance public improvements.”

With a history that dates back 150 years, Standard & Poor’s is known to investors worldwide as a leader of financial-market intelligence, most notably as an independent provider of credit ratings. In 2009, they published more than 870,000 new and revised credits ratings.
