Car Theft Nets Victim’s Credit Cards

Yavapai County Sheriff's Office Area Commands MapSedona AZ (February 18, 2015) – On January 27, 2015, Yavapai County Sheriff’s Office deputies were dispatched to a vehicle burglary in the Mountain Club Division, Prescott, Arizona. The 58-year-old victim told YCSO unknown suspects entered her unlocked white Chevrolet truck and stole her wallet containing credit cards, cash, and identification cards including a Medicare ID displaying her social security number. The property was last seen on January 24, 2015, and discovered missing on January 27.

Delay in providing information to the public was the result of an on-going investigation.

The victim indicated that the suspects had already used her bank credit card at Walmart and a local Mexican restaurant resulting in a loss of several hundred dollars. Deputies met with loss prevention officers from Walmart and were able to view a video showing two male suspects with the victim’s credit cards.

The two men are described as follows:

  • Male 1 is approximately 6’ tall, 180 pounds, dark skin, and long brown hair in a ponytail. He was wearing a ball cap in the video. Loss prevention staff at the Prescott AZ Walmart provided the investigation with information that the suspect may be associated with a smaller black 4-door passenger vehicle.
  • Male 2 is approximately 5’ 7” tall, 140 pounds, dark hair and light colored skin. He was also wearing a ball cap. This part of the investigation with loss prevention staff at Wal-Mart is ongoing. The suspect may be associated with a smaller black 4-door passenger vehicle.

On January 31, 2015, the investigating deputy was able to obtain video showing one of the suspects, possibly Male 2, purchasing food at a Mexican restaurant in Prescott. Stills shots from the video are included (see photo above) with hope someone may be able to identify the suspect.

If anyone has information regarding these two suspects, you are urged to contact YCSO at 928-771-3260 or Yavapai Silent Witness at 1-800-932-3232. Information provided directly to Silent Witness may result in a cash reward if an arrest is made based on the tip: Refer to case number 15-003269.
