  1. Prayers for Sedona

  2. Although Hawkeye Lane is further south than Mormon Road, site of the proposed housing development, this fire is a first hand example of why city planners should not snub their noses at residents’ safety just because they can.

The Rolling Hills Estates Improvement Assn. pleaded with city council not to eliminate access to an emergency fire road on the proposed new development. Now today Brewer Road was closed for a while because of this fire, which due to windy conditions could easily have spread very quickly.

These city leaders must have tunnel vision. All they can see is bringing in more tourists (especially at the now city owned property right there on Brewer Road) and giving money to the Regional Chamber to promote businesses not contributing to city taxes.

Where is our city attorney on this matter? Isn’t he affiliated with that Mormon Church over there? Why wouldn’t he advise the city to be less reckless? Not only that but this is another good reason why the public should be discouraged from access to Oak Creek. These are our homes, you fools. Not a playground for the rich and idle. Get a life someplace else.
