  1. “Gary Chamberlain has worked tirelessly both as an individual picking up litter and as a cheerleader and event leader for those of us who have worked with him side by side on the highway as well as in our own separate neighborhoods.

His volunteer efforts go well beyond what the casual motorist sees as they drive by someone with a grabber and a bag cleaning up the roadway and include countless hours working behind the scenes with ADOT.

This Governor’s award has been a long time coming to someone who truly makes a difference. We’re thrilled to see Gary honored for his persistence and determination in not only cleaning up our highways, but encouraging others to do the same. We add our applause and our thanks to Gary for all he’s done in Sedona and the entire Verde Valley.

We are also grateful to the many actively engaged Adopt-A-Highway volunteers and KSB Litter Lifters who constantly strive to maintain their respective sections of roadway. We are blessed that so many people care about the appearance of our highways. We hope that both of these groups will also be recognized for their contributions by the governor.

    Wayne and Susan Johnson
