Arizona State Republicans Elect Leadership

great seal of arizonaSedona AZ (November 5, 2014) – The day after the 2014 midterm elections the Republican Caucus selected David Gowan Sr. to be its next Speaker of the House.

Speaker-elect Gowan is the first southern Arizonan to be elected Speaker in nearly 30 years. Joe Lane from Wilcox was the last Southern Arizonan elected Speaker in 1987.

Steve Montenegro is the Majority Leader-elect. He was 4 years old when his family immigrated to the United States from El Salvador, and has served in the House since 2008.

David Livingston is the Majority Whip-elect and was elected to the House in 2013.

The new leadership indicated they are looking forward to building a unified House Republican Caucus which will work closely with the Senate leadership and Caucus.

The electorate sent a clear message of what it expects to the democrats and republicans and if both parties continue ignoring the messages sent neither party will fare well and candidates, you will lose the next elections to third party or main party wild card candidates. Just sayin’ you weren’t elected because you were the best when you were the better of two evils. Don’t think higher of yourself than the next recall election.
