Arizona Man Arrested for Child Molestation

On Wednesday, April 9, 2014, a Sheriff’s Sergeant assigned to the Williams Grand Canyon Patrol Division was dispatched to a Coconino County school. Upon arrival, the Sergeant spoke with a student’s mother and learned from her that her seven year-old daughter disclosed being molested by a man living in their home. The child’s mother described the man as her “Common-Law-Husband.”

According to the victim’s mother, she lives with her daughter and the accused at a Valle residence. Valle is an unincorporated community near the junction of Arizona Highway 180 and Arizona State Route 64, south of the Grand Canyon. The mother believed the alleged molestation occurred when she was at work and her daughter was left home alone with the suspect.

A detective was assigned to the case and he contacted the suspect at his place of employment. During a subsequent interview, the suspect made statements implicating himself in the crime of Child Molestation. The suspect was arrested and booked into the Coconino County Detention Facility, Flagstaff.

The suspect’s name and booking photo are being withheld in an effort to protect the seven year old victim’s identity.
