Arizona Interstate 17 Bridge Work Continues

ADOT Thanksgiving Day Interstate 17 Update

Prescott AZ (November 17, 2012) – The following late night closures and restrictions will be in place (weather permitting) on Arizona Interstate 17 at Cordes Junction next week as crews work on new bridges and remove the old Cordes Lakes Road bridge, according to the Arizona Department of Transportation:

Sunday, November 18:

▪ Drivers on northbound Arizona I-17 will be shifted through a detour to Stagecoach Road and then to the new Arcosanti traffic interchange to continue northbound on I-17 between 10 p.m. and 6 a.m.

▪ Drivers on southbound Arizona I-17 will be shifted through a detour over the Arcosanti bridge to the AZ State Route 69 on-ramp back onto southbound I-17 between 10 p.m. and 6 a.m.

Monday, November 19 and Tuesday November 20:

▪ Drivers on northbound Arizona I-17 will be shifted through a detour to Stagecoach Road and then to the new Arcosanti traffic interchange to continue northbound on I-17 between 7 p.m. and 6 a.m.

▪ Drivers on southbound Arizona I-17 will be shifted through a detour over the Arcosanti bridge to the Arizona SR 69 on-ramp back onto southbound I-17 between 8 p.m. and 6 a.m.

No work is scheduled for the Thanksgiving holiday Wednesday through Saturday, November 21-24.

ADOT will resume work on Sunday night, November 25.

The work is part of a $50 million project to modernize the Arizona I-17/SR 69 interchange.

The work zone will be clearly marked by temporary barricades and signage. ADOT advises drivers to allow additional time to reach their destinations and to proceed through the work zone with caution, comply with the reduced speed limit, and be alert for construction equipment and personnel.
