Anti-abortion Democrats Reach Deal on Health Care Bill

SEDONA AZ (March 21, 2010)-Anti-abortion Democrats, including Michigan Rep. Bart Stupak, struck a deal today with President Barack Obama’s White House insuring their “yes” vote on the pending Health Care Reform bill. The substance of the deal is that the President will sign an Executive Order guaranteeing no new federal funds will be used to pay for abortions and or abortion related services. The agreement may allow the Democrats to pass the health care bill with an approximate 216 votes.

“I’m pleased to announced that we have an agreement,” said Michigan Representative Stupak at a Capitol Hill press conference. “With the help of the President and the Speaker (Nancy Pelosi), we were able to come to an agreement to protect the sanctity of life in health care reform. There will be no public funding of abortion in this legislation.”

Stupak went on to say that President Obama will sign the Executive Order Sunday declaring that the existing Hyde amendment, which specifically states that no federal funding may be used for abortion services, will apply to any new agency, health center, insurance coverage, or health care services created by the pending legislation.

Fast forward to today. Remember your history.

Abortion has killed millions of children and stands to be the greatest impediment to the survival of the next generation. Despite the massive success of recent legislation in Texas protecting the unborn, pro-death advocates are challenging SB 8.

The Texas Heartbeat Law, SB 8, had long been in the works and has finally been passed. The new piece of legislation bans any abortion after the baby is 6 weeks gestational age in the state of Texas.

Pro-death baby advocates say that 60-70% of women seek abortions after the 6 weeks age and are adversely impacted. It appears Planned Parenthood puts the number higher in the 80-90% range.
