Subject: Magic Number
Ref: Ebola’s Transition Point

Editor;

Listening to the “Experts” speaking of their opinions and knowledge about Ebola scares me. I am what you would probably call a natural born skeptic, and I’ve been in some rather contentious conversations and written exchanges because I often ask questions that are not normally asked of experts.

(An) Example…when they claimed that the HIV virus (AIDS) could not be transmitted through casual contact, I asked “What is the incubation period on the virus?” I never did get a firm answer and I maintain that if you do not know the “Incubation Time on the Virus” there is no way for you to be sure of how a virus cannot be contracted, it is impossible.

I think this thing about Ebola is pretty much the same, only my questions in this (Ebola) one are “What is the Magic Number? How can we know whether someone can spread the Virus or not? It appears to me that they hmm-haw around somewhat focusing on body temperature – if it is elevated to 101○, they considered that as (for lack of a better term) dangerous…then, they find out some show up with Ebola that never had a fever that high.

So where does it change? I think the “Normal Body Temperature” is something like 98.6○ so is 98.7○ safe, is 99.7○ safe or elevated? I do not trust the “So called Experts”.

Ebola may not be as bad as what I heard it was when I first heard about it, which was Twenty, maybe Thirty or so years ago, but it sounded invincible to me at the time. Its growth has been bad but nothing like it appeared to me. Still it kills, and the answers we get to our questions are often vague and somewhat condescending which does not help; especially since we have been “Lied To” over and over again by these same government people.

A lot of the problems come down to a simple matter of “Trust” which has been justifiably lost by our Federal Government over the years. Trust generally increases “Respect” and Respect generally produces “Loyalty”, and this equation builds over time and all three parts grow stronger as long as the there is continued reason for the subject(s) to trust and respect the person or entity the Loyalty is directed toward. All normal, however, a single act, word or sometimes a look can destroy years of building…and the rebuilding is usually very slow, incremental, painful and sometimes unattainable.

Our Nation has tried to demand “Loyalty from our Military” while at the same time, the Nation has at times tried to crucify some of our military personnel. And at the same time trying to make “Heroes” out of others that lied, cheated and used outside influences to promote their position(s) usually “Military or Political Preferential Treatment” – personally I believe this to be the case with John Kerry and John McCain.

The transition line between safe and contagious looks very fine to me, and I believe, that in something as serious as Ebola has proved to be, it is much better to ‘err’ on the side of caution rather than thinking everything is fine and finding out it was a mistake.

Caution will be inconvenient but lack of caution may prove deadly.

  1. Writer is long winded and one sided but offers ideas for valuable discussions. Your letters are varied. This genre required in a democratic society. Thank you.

    Greg damn freakin wicked awesome title!! Trademark it man!!

  3. No caution should ever be inconvenient! It’s been proven health care professionals don’t know proper protocols themselves and to rely on them has proven a false flag of hope. Add politicians and America doesn’t have effective medical care. Feels hopeless as a citizen.
