Here is the link to the latest in the State trying to dump another route on municipalities – and they failed. You had the original article on your site so I can only imagine you will like to have the end result?

The following quoted headline dated 6/9/11 appeared in another online publication: “ADOT Transfers 23 Miles of US60 to Six Cities.” Done deal . . . no ifs, ands, or buts.
Now comes this headline 7/30/11 on Sedona Eye: “ADOT Will Not Transfer Grand Avenue.” Grand Avenue is then clearly identified as “part of the federal highway system also known as U.S. 60” .
This exercise in observing two versions of reporting on the exact same subject illustrates the blatant deviation from reality contained in the 6/9/11 report as compared to accurate information.
Thank you, Sedona Eye, for maintaining high ethical practices as displayed by your wisdom to produce fact over fantasy.
Correction to above reporting. ADOT “dropped the idea” of the route transfer, but will study the route’s “future.”
It is the Maricopa Association of Governments (MAG) that is doing the study, not ADOT. The ADOT spokesman said that irrespective of the studies outcome ADOT would retain ownership of the highway. The mayors of the cities where the highway traverses had the courage to stand up against the route transfer because of their concerns about the expense of maintaining a major highway going through their towns.
