ADOT I-17 Overnight Work Scheduled January 28 Week

ADOT photoSedona AZ (January 24, 2013) – Crews will realign the northbound lanes back to the normal configuration on Arizona Interstate 17 at the Cordes Junction traffic interchange next week and as a result, the following restrictions and detours will be in place (weather permitting), according to the Arizona Department of Transportation:

Sunday, January 27: 

▪ A left lane restriction on southbound I-17 between 10 p.m. and 6 a.m.

▪ Drivers on northbound I-17 will be shifted through a detour to Stagecoach Road and then to the new Arcosanti traffic interchange to continue northbound on I-17 between 10 p.m. and 6 a.m.

Monday, January 28:

▪ Drivers on northbound I-17 will be shifted through a detour to Stagecoach Road and then to the new Arcosanti traffic interchange to continue northbound on I-17 between 10 p.m. and 6 a.m.

▪ A single lane restriction in both directions on I-17 between 7 a.m. and Noon

Tuesday, January 29:

▪ Drivers on northbound I-17 will be shifted through a detour to Stagecoach Road and then to the new Arcosanti traffic interchange to continue northbound on I-17 between 9 p.m. and 6 a.m.

Wednesday, January 30:

▪ A right lane restriction on northbound I-17 between 7 p.m. and 6 a.m.

▪ A right lane restriction on southbound I-17 and the off-ramp from I-17 at the Arcosanti traffic interchange between 7 p.m. and 6 a.m.

▪ State Route 69 on ramp onto I-17 will be closed and a detour will be in place between 10 p.m. and 6 a.m. at Copper Star Road

Thursday, January 31:

▪ Shoulder closures on northbound I-17 between 7 a.m. and 3 p.m.

The work is part of a $50 million project to modernize the AZ I-17/SR 69 interchange. The work zone will be clearly marked by temporary barricades and signage. ADOT advises drivers to allow additional time to reach their destinations and to proceed through the work zone with caution, comply with the reduced speed limit, and be alert for construction equipment and personnel.

  2. The following late night lane restrictions and daytime shoulder closures will be in place at the junction of Arizona Interstate 17 and State Route 69 in Cordes Junction next week advises the Arizona Department of Transportation:

    Monday, February 4 through Thursday, February 7, 2013:

    ▪ I-17 will be narrowed to one lane in each direction from 7 p.m. to 6 a.m. to allow crews to perform work in the median.

    ▪ SR 69 will have shoulder closures approaching the southbound on-ramp onto I-17 between 7 a.m. and 4 p.m. to allow crews to install lighting and seed the work zone along the roadway.

    The work is part of a $50 million project to reconstruct the I-17/SR 69 traffic interchange.
