Sedona Animal Whisperer Maia Kincaid

Sedona AZ (May 2, 2014) – The Sedona Women organization invites members and non-member women to the final program of the 2013-2014 season on Wednesday, May 14, 2014, beginning at 10:00 in the morning at the Sedona Creative Life Center, 333 Schnebly Hill Road, Sedona. Hear from four professionals in the areas of animal care, service, outreach and communication.

Animals tend to love us unconditionally and they are hard workers! Therapy animals interact with patients and students, showing dramatic improvement in overall health and moods. Service animals can be one’s eyes, detect seizures, and ease PTSD experienced by returning veterans. Almost every airport, major police department and military has their specialized K-9 unit. It’s documented by scientific research; people with pets can live healthier, happier lives.

Can you imagine having a conversation with your dog or your cat and hearing what they have to say? Author Maia Kincaid, Ph.D., an animal communicator and founder of the Sedona International School for Telepathic Animal and Nature Communication will share what it’s like to have a conversation with an animal and give some suggestions and encouragement in your own telepathic animal communication.

David Arendt, a former policeman with a K-9 unit (police dogs) will speak about canine partnership; from selection to retirement, and the different personalities and quirks these dogs have. Although Americans consider them to be attack dogs, their duties generally include drug, bomb, and weapon detection and cadaver searches. Arendt will also talk about the unique capabilities of specialty animals such as service animals.

From Connections Equine Therapy Program, Executive Director Andrea Baldwin will tell about partnerships between horses and clients with mild to profound challenges and disabilities. Showing ultimate courage getting on the back of an equine partner, the challenges of the clients lives seem transformed.

Executive Director, Susanne Fuqua, from the Sedona Humane Society, has a big a heart for giving and loving care. This is an “open door” shelter, meaning they do not turn away any animal in need. The SHS commitment is to actively help animals in the community and to cultivate that same commitment in others.

The Sedona Women, Dames Who Make A Difference, meets the second Wednesday of every month (September – May) at the Sedona Creative Life Center, 333 Schnebly Hill Road, Sedona. A “Meet & Greet” begins at 9:30 a.m. with the general meeting and program beginning sharply at 10:00 o’clock. The word “Dame” is used in England as a title of honor – the counterpart to a Knight – and connotes commitment, integrity, passion and earned knowledge. A “Dame” is a woman of substance.

Come and hear about remarkable animals that protect, teach, guide and, above all, steal our hearts!
